Arboreal Salamander A medium sized species found in coastal and inland valleys from north of Fort Bragg through northern Baja. Also found in northern Sierra Nevada foothills. It likes oak woodlands. This one arrived on a pulling trailer from our satellite facility on San Juan Rd. Feeds on various invertebrates, has no lungs and absorbs oxygen through its moist skin. It has mouth full of very sharp teeth and can deliver a deep, painful and bloody bite! Handle gently and with care. For more info see Californiaherps.com |
